E: *wakes up* SCRAAATCH my toes
K: Okay grumpy, I think you need more sleep
E: I need more SCRATCH

*Girl comes up to kiss her baby brother who is lying on his belly minding his own business*
E: *quickly pulls brother back by his feet* No, that's MY baby!

E: Give me my coat! I'm shaking like a squirrel.

K: *Climbs onto bed and lands knee on hard object* Ow, what is under the covers?!
E: *Pulls out bicycle pump* It's a pea under the mattress!

E: Where is Theo's mama?
L: You mean where is mama? You and Theo have the same mama. You have the same papa too.
E: And the same Marshmallow [our cat].

(At school, as told by her teacher)
E: *mutters to herself in French (which no one at her school speaks)*

*Flight attendant explains that she has fruit puree that will be thrown away and we say E would love to take it*
*Hand puree to her, she carefully inspects it*
E: AHH! It's haves babies on it!

K: Why are you crying, honey?

K: You're sad because you like puppies?
E: Yes. *Sobbing* I don't like kitties

K: If I let you bring your [mp3-playing] bunny will you sleep in tata [auntie] Helene's bed?
E: Yeah!
K: Will you go to sleep all by yourself?
E: No, I will cry, and then you will come.

K: Can I hold your hand?
E: My hands are busy.

On bread

E: I want some of that bread.
K: Ugh, I don't think this bread is good anymore, bug.
E: It's good enough.

On asking for forgiveness

*Chases after screaming friend with a cup of water while playing at water table*
K: Don't put water on him; he isn't having fun when you do that.
E: No, I will put water on him, but then I will say sorry.
